Turkey

October/November 2013

What an outstanding, beautiful country. Turkey was on my list for a long time and I'm so glad I was able to make it there during a time of peace. The people, the culture, the food - all were incredible.

This country has history on every corner. Literally, the old cities earlier are coming up through the streets of the new cities that were built on top. For example, at dinner one night, our tour guide put the menus on what looked to be a stone wall. That it was...just happened to be built in the 5th or 6th Century. It was a long trip, but worth every minute and every dollar. I had only been a bellydancer for a few short months when I was there, so I'm making it my business to go back for more dance experience along with the sites (and the fresh pomegranate juice!)

In Ephesus, I've seen Roman ruins but NOTHING like this. It's incredible how much they've excavated and it's only a fraction of the entire city.

Get to Cappadocia and take a hot air balloon ride - it will be one of the most memorable experiences of your life. Watching the balloons lift over this unique landscape is a truly one of a kind moment.

Morocco

september 2016 - and it was hot!

I had the incredible fortune of visiting Morocco in September 2016, with Overseas Adventure Travel as usual. This trip was not only educational, but it was different from every country I'd visited before. I learned more about the Islamic religion and culture as well as daily life in this stunning place. The architecture was beyond beautiful and the desert seemed endless. Enjoy a few of my favorite shots from this amazing experience. Simply click the left and right arrows to browse.

Czech Republic, Slovakia & Hungary

June/july 2017 - a beautiful, yet emotional journey

Everyone always thinks of Prague when they think of the Czech Republic, but there is oh so much more. After starting in Prague, I visited Czesky Krumlov and Slavonice - then we made our way to Bratislava, Slovakia, a beautiful small city steeped in history and culture. We finally ended in the glorious Budapest. This was my latest trip in June/July 2017 - enjoy some of my favorite photos below! This trip was more emotional than others, so for a few more thoughts, tips and recos - read my blog entries from this trip: Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Slavonice and Bratislava.

Taiwan & the Philippines

February 2015 - a long winter of travel

I always feel fortunate to be able to travel for work and for leisure. The winter of 2014/2015 proved to be an extensive one for both. It all came to a close with nearly 5 weeks in Eastern Asia spending a few days in the Philippines and then the balance in Taiwan (my second time there)...seeing the entire country! A beautiful weeks were had with relaxing, touring, learning and most of all - EATING! The food is absolutely amazing. Enjoy a few shots from this fantastic, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
